Texas Gulf Bank Celebrates 16th Anniversary of West Columbia Branch

September 14, 2020

For over 100 years, Texas Gulf Bank (TGB), MEMBER FDIC, has been a strong, stable, and financially secure independent bank thriving in both boom times and recessions. Situated near the Texas Gulf Coast, the West Columbia branch has worked to remain available to meet customers’ needs amid the global pandemic and recent hurricane threats. Despite these factors, the staff in West Columbia celebrates their 16th year of operations by thanking their loyal customers.

“The key to our success has always been in the relationships forged with our customers and the local community,” said Texas Gulf Bank Chairman of the Board and CEO, James F. Brown, Jr. “We focus on personal service to ensure there is always open communication that builds trust as well as financial futures.”

The West Columbia community, in particular, has seen much change over the nearly two decades that Texas Gulf Bank has had a branch in the area. Longtime staff member Denise Kalischko has dedicated more than 20 years to serving the banking needs of this area.

“Texas Gulf Bank has been in West Columbia for 16 years, which says something about our staying power,” said Kalischko.

All of the current Texas Gulf Bank team members you will find at the West Columbia branch have been in the area for more than 30 years. They know the neighborhood, business climate, and community culture very well. This includes Branch Banking Specialist, Amber Gray, who spends a lot of time getting to know the people of West Columbia, Texas and its surrounding towns like Sweeny, Brazoria, Damon and Needville.

“The West Columbia community is well-established, with diverse demographics,” said Branch Manager, Del Villarreal. “Our customers range from small business owners in the retail and service industries, farmers and ranchers, to those in the chemical industry. Chevron Phillips and Phillips 66 are both major employers right in our back yard. In addition, we have a consumer base that includes retirees and those on social security.”

In addition, BASF, Dow Chemical, and other Chemical and Petroleum industry plants and contractors work and live within 30 minutes of West Columbia, adding to the diverse workforce of the area.

“Our experienced decision makers take the time to work with you to figure out what you really need,” said Villareal. “Our Texas roots run deep, so we understand the unique dynamics of the people, businesses, and industry leaders here along the Texas Gulf Coast.”
