RICHARD W. JOCHETZ APPOINTED PRESIDENT OF TEXAS GULF BANK HOUSTON
HOUSTON, TX, May 12, 2009: Richard W. Jochetz has been appointed President of Texas Gulf Bank Houston, an independently owned and operated bank established in 1913. Jochetz assumes full responsibility for all operations of Texas Gulf Bank Houston, and the development and execution of strategic direction for the Bank as it continues to expand into new geographic areas with diverse products and services.
Jochetz began his banking career in 1980 at Cullen Frost Bank where he focused on commercial lending to the energy industry. In 1988, Jochetz joined Tanglewood Bank and later became the chief lending officer where he focused on commercial and real estate lending along with private banking for high-net-worth clients. During his tenure at Tanglewood Bank, Jochetz served on the management team and was a member of the board of directors.
When Tanglewood Bank was purchased by Northern Trust in 1995, Jochetz left the organization to collaborate with two long-time banking colleagues and formed Bank of Tanglewood. As the bank’s president and CEO, Jochetz focused on all aspects of lending and deposit business. Jochetz and his partners grew the bank to $250 million in assets and three locations in the Houston area. In 2002, Bank of Tanglewood was sold to Bank of Texas. Jochetz served as president of Bank of Texas Houston and was a member of its board of directors.
Jochetz holds several board positions in Houston which include Goodwill Industries of Houston Foundation, Chapelwood United Methodist Church, and the Lakeside Country Club. He is a former board member and chair of the Post Oak YMCA and volunteers his time with CanCare.
